Visit East Fork Kruse Creek since you're here at Allen Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Sheridan is a delightful place to spend a night or two. A good site for whitewater paddling right next door to Allen Reservoir is Clear Creek, and don't leave Allen Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Stockwell Trail. Allen Reservoir       gets very little rainfall; all through the month of April you get the most snow around here; February is when it's the driest. Stay the night at Wagon Box Campground, and good hiking is available along the Penrose Park Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Allen Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Cabin Creek Trailer Campground - Bighorn National Forest is a splendid site for that, and if you're interested in hydro                  structures, you can have a look at Allen Dam. Allen Reservoir truly is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. You could also stop by Moncreiffe Reservoir if you're here at Allen Reservoir; it's nearby, and there are wonderful spots to explore along the Story Penrose Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Allen Reservoir is not the only spot close by, Mountain Reservoir is a close by lake, and there are plenty of people from Sheridan here. You can never get enough of the nice skiing at Antelope Butte. Throughout the warm days of summer here at Allen Reservoir, high temperatures frequently reach the 60's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 30's.
