Allen Reservoir gets very little rainfall; during the month of April you get the most snow around here, and the driest month of the year is February. Comfort Inn Sheridan is a great place to get some rest, and Johnson Draw is close by, and is a glorious place. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Sheridan-Days Inn is a tremendous choice, and if you came to camp Wagon Box Inn and Campground is a wonderful       place to do that. Near Allen Reservoir you discover the Penrose Park Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and camping at Cabin Creek Trailer Campground - Bighorn National Forest is always a fine experience. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Antelope Butte are so inviting noone can resist. There is a pleasant hiking trail near Allen Reservoir called the Stockwell Trail, and as expected East Fork Kruse Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth                  a visit. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clear Creek, and Allen Dam is gorgeous. On a splendid day at Allen Reservoir you can take a hike along the Story Penrose Trail; this is a popular location for folks from Sheridan. Summertime highs at Allen Reservoir mostly tend to be in the 60's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 30's.
