If you need a spot to stay Best Western Douglas Inn And Conference Center is a fine choice; camping is available at Douglas Koa. This lake is so wonderful. Cottonwood Creek is near Abney Number 1 Reservoir and is always a bliss to take a look at; if you've had enough of Abney Number 1 Reservoir, 1st Enlargement of Little  
   Boxelder Number 1 Reservoir is nearby. Douglas Super 8 Motel is a great location to get some rest, obviously you could also explore Little Boxelder Number 1 Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all.
Summertime highs at Abney Number 1 Reservoir mostly tend to be in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's while Abney Number 1 Reservoir overnight low
