You'll find a gorgeous lake called Potomac River Reservoir near Swan Pond, and Swan Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Opequon Junction Campground is a great local campground. Camping at Mc Mahon's Mill Rec Area is always a great experience;       if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Shepherdstown is a brilliant choice. After a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Martinsburg is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Antietam Creek. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Go for a hike on the Snavelys Ford Trail, and if you're here, you could also pop by wonderful Lake Thomas. Don't leave Swan Pond                  without first going for a hike along the Loudoun Heights Trail, and get your pulse rate up on the pleasant whitewater of Back Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a fine close by course is Stonebridge Golf Club, and glorious hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. High temperatures at Swan Pond during the months of summer are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Swan Pond.
