Sutton Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Birch River, and a delightful close by hotel is Elk Motor Court. Bee Run is close to Sutton Lake and is always a diversion to have a look at; there's whitewater on Laurel Creek - Elk       River Tributary for all you adrenaline people. Go for a hike on the Park View Trail, and Sutton Dam is pretty. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Sutton Lake. Summersville Music Park Campground is a magnificent campground here. Summertime highs at Sutton Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter                  nights come with lows in the 10's to Sutton Lake.
