During the long summer days here at Summit Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Summit Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Pocahontas Trail; dry warm beds await you at Relax Inn Lewisburg. While you're here at Summit Lake, you could also go       to picturesque Summit Lake; there's some flowing water nearby, Big Glady Run is a stream you can stop at while here. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Cranberry River, and don't leave Summit Lake without first going for a hike along the Fork Mountain Trail. Get soaked paddling on Cherry River - North Fork, and a magnificent panorama of delightful Hanging Rock is available. Summit Lake really is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. Camping at Cranberry                  Campground is always a splendid experience; there are magnificent places to discover along the Hanging Rock Trail. If you came to camp Summit Lake Campground is a brilliant site to do that, and if you're here why not stop by Goose Hollow. Summit Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
