Get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Gauley River, also Summersville Dam is worth a visit if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Meadow                  River close to Summersville Lake; if you're here you can take a hike along the Carnifex Trail. Summersville Lake is a reasonably wet place frequently with a great deal of rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Summersville Lake Motor Lodge. You'll meet a lot of people from Oak Hill here; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Way Back Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff right next door to Summersville Lake.
