Summer at Stony River Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows at Stony River Reservoir during the wintertime usually fall into the 10's. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Canaan Valley, and Canaan Valley Resort and Conf       Ctr is a fine location to get some rest. So much amusing stuff to do here at Stony River Reservoir, too great to be true. Good hiking is available along the Blackbird Knob Trail; a nice location for whitewater paddling is Stony River. The Stonecoal Trail offers hiking at its best; lakes are such serene spots, why not take a look at Spruce Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A quick tour to Mud Run near Stony River Reservoir is a magnificent idea, and                  a good place to camp here at Stony River Reservoir is Blackwater Lodge. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Stony River Reservoir; Breathed Mountain Trail is a great local trail, and camping at Red Creek Campground is always a perfect experience. This lake is so wonderful. Mount Storm Lake is a delightful lake in close proximity to Stony River Reservoir; Difficult Creek is a splendid whitewater spot close by.
