Do stop by Stonecoal Reservoir while you're in this part of West Virginia. This lake is so wonderful. Wilderness waterpark and Camp is a nice campground here; Comfort Inn Weston is a tremendous place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Stonecoal Reservoir regularly tend to be in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight

There are nice places to look at along the High Rock Trail, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Clarksburg here. From Stonecoal Reservoir you get a delightful vista of Purgatory Hill; why not take a little journey to Beechlick Run while you're here. Going for a hike on the Reverie Trail is always a delightful adventure; after a long day outdoors Weston Super 8 Motel is a wonderful location to spend a night or two.

Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rain; all through July this area sees the most rain; February is when it's the driest. There's whitewater on Little Kanawha River for all you adrenaline junkies, and there's always Stonecoal Creek
Dam to pop by in close proximity to Stonecoal Reservoir. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Don't leave Stonecoal Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Salt Lick Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Broken Wheel Campground Country Store is a tremendous location to camp.
