Upper Smith Dam is not far at all from Smith Lakes, and Smith Lakes is a place with many visitors from Parkersburg-Marietta. The top of Mount Logan is easily seen from Smith Lakes; if you need a place to stay Red Carpet Inn Parkersburg is a great choice. If you love the outdoors, you'll adore Smith Lakes. Do stop at Lake Washington near Smith Lakes, it's a pretty lake, and Smith Lakes is right by the Riverview       Trail. Through the summertime months at Smith Lakes highs are typically in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Smith Lakes are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. It's a great idea to visit Little Kanawha River, it's close to Smith Lakes, and a pretty lake like Highland Lake is a great spot to have a look at. This lake is so wonderful.
