Smith Lakes gets lots of water; July is the wettest month with most rain while February is typically the driest month. Take a little tour to Little Kanawha River while you're here at Smith Lakes; near Smith Lakes you hit upon a golf course called South Hills Golf Club. At Smith Lakes you always meet someone from Parkersburg-Marietta, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Riverview Trail.
