This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Pearis Thompson Horse Trail; Simon Fish Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Creek State Forest is a great local campground. At Simon Fish Pond through the days of summer highs are in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. descend into the 10's. Stumpy Bottom is right here at Simon Fish Pond, and Winterplace is a very popular ski area in the vicinity.
This lake is so wonderful. Bluestone River is a perfect whitewater spot close to Simon Fish Pond,
and some of the water close by flows, like Christian Fork. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express PRINCETON/I-77 is a good choice, and if you've had enough of Simon Fish Pond, Christian Fork Lake is close by. Don't leave Simon
Fish Pond without first going for a hike along the Standing Branch Horse Trail; a tremendous site for whitewater paddling is Brush Creek.
Simon Fish Pond really is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Going for a hike
on the Hoof and Hill Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and not far from Simon Fish Pond you obtain some brilliant water scenery at Daves Fork-Christians Fork Structure Three Dam. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area near Simon Fish Pond has to offer.

E-mall me at momsangel_1995@yahoo.com...Lake Shawnee is an Old lake with a Amusement park on it.The amusement park is now shut down because of to many fatality's.The rides are still visible and the amusement park is said to be haunted.They still hold fishing tournaments for catfish there every week. The amusement park was built in memory of Michel clays children who were killed on the property by Indians because they were playing on a old graveyard.... |
Bluestone River
| The put in and take out positions on the map are wrong! You can put in where it is marked with a blue dot, but you'll be going through about 3 miles of bottom land and slow water. The red dot is not even on Bluestone River. It is positioned on a tributary of Wolf Creek and to get there from Bluestone you'll need to be able to paddle up a 40' water fall. It also states here to look at Brooks Branch which is only about 2' wide and also runs through farm land. Rich Creek is the same way. Put in on the ''Mill Dam Road'', 1 mile north on Rt.19 from where the blue dot is. It is on the right and you can access the river where the rapids start. It is private property you'll have to cross, but if you ask before you proceed they will let you. If you don't ask they will not let you. ''ASK BEFORE YOU UNLOAD'' There are 2 property owners there you can go through. There is also nowhere to get out at Eads Mill, but Pipestem Lodge is a couple miles down stream. It has lodging and a tram from the river to the lodge. Talk to one of the locals there on the Mill Dam and they can be great help.... |
