The amusement park was built in memory of Michel clays children who were killed on the property by Indians because they were playing on a old graveyard. Everybody loves Periwinkle Bottom, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Hoof and Hill Trail. You'll come across a picturesque lake called Doctor Daniel Hale Lake near Lake Shawnee, and dry warm beds await you at SUPER 8 MOTEL - PRINCETON. An average amount of rainfall falls at Lake Shawnee; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is the month with       the least amount of precipitation. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Lake Shawnee. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Shawnee temperatures drop to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Wagon Wheel Atv Campground is a pleasant campground nearby, and you'll probably meet some folks from Bluefield here. You can never get enough of the magnificent                  skiing at Winterplace, and a pretty lake like Douglas Lake is a good site to stop at. Blankenship Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to; a short trip to Harvey Spring is always worthwhile. Lake Bottom is an attention-grabbing thing to distinguish since you're here at Lake Shawnee, and drift down the rapids of Camp Creek in a kayak. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. You absolutely have to go for Lake Shawnee. Holiday Inn Express PRINCETON/I-77 is a pleasant place to get some rest; while you're here you can take a hike along the Pearis Thompson Horse Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
