You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at The Homestead while you're here, and if you came for an overnight stay Whittaker Campground is a pleasant location to camp. Yep, outdoors fun things to do are truly bountiful here at Seneca Lake. Paddling on Greenbrier River is so much fun; beautiful scenery and wonderful skiing is what you get at Snowshoe. If you need a       place to stay Holiday Inn Express Covington, Virginia is a fine choice, and there are other places here than Seneca Lake, for example Lake Sam Hill. All the water falling down from the sky makes Seneca Lake a wet site; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. During the long summer days at Seneca Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. Daytime highs                  during the wintertime are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Seneca Lake. Take a hike on the Peters Mountain Trail; one of the major marks of the surroundings of Seneca Lake is Rabbit Knob.
