     The beauty of Scott Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snowshoe if you're here. The high level of rainfall makes Scott Lake a rather wet place; July is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cheat River - Shavers Fork, and the Chestnut Ridge Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby.
 
   While you're here at Scott Lake you can take a hike along the Yokum Hunter Access Trail; after a long day outdoors Elkins Super 8 Motel is a great place to spend a night or two. At Scott Lake all through the days of summer highs are in the 80's while night lows are typically in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Scott Lake are in the 10's. A magnificent vista of scenic Harper Knob is available from  
               Scott Lake. There's so much to do here at Scott Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Blue Bend Rec Area - Monongahela National Forest is a great place for that.
You don’t have to go far from Scott Lake to catch a glimpse of the water at Scott Lake Dam, and a perfect nearby hotel is Rich Mountain Inn. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Scott Lake has to offer, you can camp at Big Bend - Monongahela National Forest; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Crouch Hunter Access Trail. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Don't forget to take a great little journey to Carrick Run, and if you come at the right time of year, Roaring Creek - Tygart Valley River Tributary offers some glorious whitewater.
