Why not stop by Scott Lake if you're passing through these parts. If the weather is wonderful here at Scott Lake, you can go for a hike along the Yokum Hunter Access Trail; Roaring Creek - Tygart Valley River Tributary is a brilliant whitewater spot close by. | | for an overnight stay Big Bend - Monongahela National Forest is a magnificent location to camp.
You can run the rapids of Cheat River - Shavers Fork near Scott Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Elkins Super 8 Motel. There is a wonderful hiking trail close to Scott Lake called the Chestnut Ridge Trail, and Blue Bend Rec Area - Monongahela National Forest is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Snowshoe is brilliant.

highs at Scott Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Scott Lake. There's just
no way anyone can get bored here at Scott Lake. Harper Knob is gorgeous and can be spotted from Scott Lake; if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ELKINS is a fine choice. Scott Lake is a pretty wet place regularly
with a great deal of rainfall; most of the rain falls through July; February is the month with the least moisture.
