Go to Rowland Mine Impoundment if you want to go to a nice lake. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Coal River - Clear Fork; lakes are such calm spots, why not take a look at Collins Fork Impoundment. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Sandlick Creek, and this is a popular place for people from Beckley. This lake is so wonderful. A lot of rain falls at Rowland Mine Impoundment; of all the months
in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. Rowland Mine Impoundment is great enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Stephens Campground is a great local campground; there's some attention-grabbing stuff to spot at Mcgraw Fork Slurry Dam right next door to Rowland Mine Impoundment.
