During your journey to Plum Orchard Lake you'll meet some people from Oak Hill for sure; a day on the slopes of Winterplace is just       what you need. If you haven’t been to Bluestone National Scenic River, you should schedule some time for it if you're here, and Holiday Inn Oakhill/New River Gorge, Wv is a brilliant spot to get some rest. Plum Orchard Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; July is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is October. There's so much to do here at Plum Orchard Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Alpine Adventures is a good place for that,                  and Flag Knob can be made out from Plum Orchard Lake. Soar down the rapids of Dunloup Creek in a kayak, and Beech Bottom Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Arbuckle Creek; if you need a place to stay Days Inn of Mount Hope is a tremendous choice. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Plum Orchard Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Plum Orchard Lake are in the 20's.
