If you are in this part of West Virginia make sure to pay a visit to Orchard Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Orchard Lake has to offer, you can camp at New River Campground, and paddling on New River is so much fun. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do near Orchard Lake. Holiday Inn Oakhill/New River Gorge, Wv is a brilliant site to get some rest, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along

Orchard Lake is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Gauley River; lots of people from Oak Hill come here. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Orchard Lake. mostly in the 40's while Orchard Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
There's so much to do here at Orchard Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Madd Jack's Campground is a pleasant place
for that, and on a gorgeous day you obtain a fine panorama of Beulah Knob from Orchard Lake. At Union Carbide H F Club Lake Number One Dam in the vicinity of Orchard Lake there are some exciting things to see; hey, Kuns Branch is
a pleasant local stream. If you need a site to stay Quality Inn New River is a great choice, and Durham Hollow is another fine place to take a look at close by.
