    Moores Run Lake Number One is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Green Meadows Campground is a delightful site to camp, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Warden Lake. Lakes? Sure, Woodstock Reservoir is in the vicinity, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Woodstock is a good location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem  
   getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Waites Run; if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express WOODSTOCK-SHENANDOAH VALLEY is a perfect choice.
A magnificent site for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Moores Run Lake Number One is Lost River, and Warden Lake Dam has great water scenery. Hit the slopes at Bryce Resort nearby. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Moores Run Lake Number One; Squirrel Gap Trail is a pleasant local
 
               trail, and there are plenty of folks from Winchester here at Moores Run Lake Number One.

Woodstock is an excellent mid summer place to fly fish if not just for the scenery and tranquility of the area. This cold deep reservoir is excellent for catching brookies. Don't be surprised to get chilled if sticking your feet in the water. I fish the reservoir along with the Little Stoney Creek several times during the summer months. Little Stoney has a wonderful population of native brookies....
