The Potts Arm Trail is a tremendous hiking trail right next door to Moncove Lake. So many entertaining things to do at Moncove Lake, so little time. A delightful location for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Moncove Lake is Johns Creek, and a fine close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LEWISBURG. You can run the rapids of Second Creek close to Moncove Lake; if the weather       is good, you can go for a hike along the Potts Mountain Trail. At Moncove Lake throughout the months of summer highs are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Moncove Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Moncove Lake State Park is a fine local campground; if you need a place to stay The Greenbrier is a splendid choice.                  This lake is so wonderful.
