is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Bluestone Country Store and Camp is a brilliant local campground. Dry warm beds await you at The Resort at Glade Springs, and the top of Fork Mountain is easily made out from Monclo
Slurry Pond. There's some interesting stuff to see at Monclo Slurry Dam near Monclo Slurry Pond, and if you need a site to stay New River Inn is a tremendous choice.
