All through the warm days of summer highs here at Lake Sherwood reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Sherwood. Lake Sherwood gets a lot of water; the wettest month of the year is typically July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest       month of the year is February. Pocahontas Picnic And Campground is a splendid local campground, and a pleasant spot for whitewater paddling is Ogle Creek. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snowshoe while you're here, and Jackson River is a great whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Mountain View is a wonderful choice, and why not camp at Bolar Mountain Campground since you're                  here at Lake Sherwood. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do next to Lake Sherwood. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Upper Meadow Trail, and beautiful scenery and wonderful skiing is what you get at The Homestead. This lake is so wonderful. Dilley Run is a stream that you may run into while here, and Lake Sherwood Dam is a beautiful place. Going for a hike along the Diley Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, unsurprisingly you could also take a look at Lake Moomaw while you're here; it's not far at all.
