If you like lakes and you're in this part of West Virginia you can check out Lake Sam Hill. Gotta ski! The Homestead is a great spot to do that. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at McCarty Spring, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Scarlet Oak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lake Sam Hill that you need to camp here for a while, Seven Mile Campground is a fine location for that; Inn at Mountain

Lake Sam Hill is a rather wet place typically with lots of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun things the area right next door to Lake Sam Hill has to offer. While staying at Lake Sam Hill you could always discover Booga-Boo Hollow, and the Hill Top Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by. This | |

A quick visit to Little
Thorny Creek in the vicinity of Lake Sam Hill is a delightful idea; Lake Sam Hill is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Bird Run Campground is a nice local campground. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Lake Sam Hill, and through
the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Sam Hill. There's whitewater on Greenbrier River for all you adrenaline people, and the
slopes of Snowshoe are so inviting noone can resist.
After a long day outdoors Snowshoe Mountain Resort is a great place to spend a night or two; from Lake Sam Hill you get a brilliant sight of The Horse Ridge.
