    If you are in this part of West Virginia make sure to pay a visit to Lake Quigley. Piney Run flows through this vicinity; hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is great fun. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Potomac River; Loudoun Valley is also a tremendous place to explore. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Clarion Hotel & Conference Center,  
   and White Horse Rapids is a pretty site to stop by while you're at Lake Quigley.
If the weather is gorgeous, you obtain a great view of Maryland Heights from Lake Quigley, and Knights Inn - Charles Town is a nice location to get some rest. Throughout the warm days of summer at Lake Quigley temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are typically in
 
               the 30's while Lake Quigley nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's.
Lake Quigley gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January. Herrs Dam is a stunning place close to Lake Quigley, and what would a site like Lake Quigley be without interesting nearby traits like Jefferson Rock. A beautiful lake like Lowry Lake right next door to Lake Quigley is a delightful location to stop at, and do take a hike on the Loudoun Heights Trail.
Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Shenandoah River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by, and if you came for an overnight stay Antietam Creek Campground is a great place to camp. Why not camp at KOA Kampgrounds while you're here at Lake Quigley, and you'll locate a striking lake called Daley Pond. Man, is there a lot of fun things to do near Lake Quigley. Not far from Lake Quigley you hit upon The Point, and the smiling folks of Hagerstown-Martinsburg like to hang out nearby.

When this gem is low it is full of club boaters huddled in eddies playing follow the leader through shallow rocky class IIish ledges. bull falls, being the biggest hit of the day is simple and easy to recover gear if you take a tumble. At high water, (note: this writer considers 10ft @ millville to be moderately high) This babe changes to huge fast waves and raft flipping holes. Go with someone who knows what is up if you are going out when the doah is actually got some water in it. Big water means that bull falls is washed out with easy sneak lines but third hole in the main chute only gets bigger as the water goes up. The staircase really starts rockin with some of the best play in the area. With good levels the potomac will back the doah up and you have about 200 yards of flat water til the confluence.
