Lake Buffalo is a relatively wet place mostly with lots of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Go for a hike on the Little Mountain Trail. There's so much to do here at Lake Buffalo that you need to camp here for a while, East Fork Campground is a pleasant place for that. There are some good whitewater       spots on Greenbrier River - West Fork, and why not a little side trip to Johns Run. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Buffalo Lake close to Lake Buffalo, it's a beautiful lake, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ELKINS. While you're here at Lake Buffalo, you could also check out striking Seneca Lake; get yourself into a kayak and hit Greenbrier River - East Fork. High temperatures at Lake Buffalo during the days of                  summer are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Buffalo. Snowshoe is a glorious local ski area, and splendid hiking is available along the Burner Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Very wonderful water scenery is available at Lake Buffalo Dam in the vicinity of Lake Buffalo, and Elkins Super 8 Motel is a great place to get some rest. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Lake Buffalo.
