    If you are in this part of West Virginia make sure to pay a visit to Lake Buffalo. All the outdoors entertaining things near Lake Buffalo will keep you coming back again and again. Greenbrier River - West Fork is a magnificent whitewater spot in close proximity to Lake Buffalo, and if you need a location to stay Red Carpet Inn Bartow is a fine choice. Snowshoe is a good local ski area, and great hiking is available along the Little Mountain Trail. Lake Buffalo is  
   nice enough to spend more than a day at, Island Campground is a nice local campground, and you can go for a hike on the Span Oak Trail.
Throughout the long summer days highs here at Lake Buffalo reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Lake Buffalo temperatures descend to the 10's. Lake Buffalo is a wet spot that gets
 
               lots of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is February. A tremendous close by hotel is Hermitage Motel & Restaurant; there's tremendous hiking along the Burner Mountain Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. There's always Lake Buffalo Dam to take a look at near Lake Buffalo, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Johns Run. A great place to camp here at Lake Buffalo is Little River Campground, and you can run the rapids of Greenbrier River - East Fork. This lake is so wonderful.
