For the period of the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Horsehead Lake. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Horsehead Lake descend into the 20's. There are other places here than Horsehead Lake, for example Deerpond, and there       are plenty of people from Oak Hill here. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful location right next door to Horsehead Lake is Durham Hollow, and do take a hike on the Way Back Trail. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do in the neighborhood of Horsehead Lake. Stay the night at Madd Jack's Campground, and there's some flowing water close by, Kuns Branch is a stream you can pop by while here. Horsehead Lake is a nice site to visit for more                  than one day, New River Campground is a nice site to camp nearby, and Orchard Lake is a good lake nearby. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Oakhill/New River Gorge, Wv is a great place to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Armstrong Creek. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Loop Creek, and Union Carbide Lake Number Three Dam is lovely. This lake is so wonderful. Quality Inn New River is a fine place to get some rest, and the summit of Beulah Knob can be observed from Horsehead Lake.
