You can take a little trip to Henderson Dam if you're here at Henderson Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn New River. Orchard Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Oakhill/New River Gorge, Wv is a brilliant choice. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Henderson Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Henderson Lake;       Carnifex Trail is a nice local trail, and if you're here, you could also pop by gorgeous Deerpond. Through the warm months at Henderson Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's while Henderson Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Adonijah Fork is a wonderful stream that                  is worth a visit, and New River Campground is a perfect local campground. Madd Jack's Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and whitewater paddling is good on Gauley River. Henderson Lake is a wet location that gets a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally July, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Way Back Trail, and you'll meet a lot of people from Oak Hill here.
