Why not stop by Douglas Lake if you're passing through these parts. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area right next door to Douglas Lake has to offer. Douglas Lake truly is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. | | try Oney Gap, and nearby you come across the Pearis Thompson Horse Trail which is a delightful hiking trail.
You'll meet a lot of people from Bluefield here, and going for a hike on the Standing Branch Horse Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Christian Fork Lake is a good lake in the neighborhood of Douglas Lake; if you're here at Douglas Lake it's a great idea to stop at Stumpy Bottom. is a nice place to camp; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express PRINCETON/I-77 is a good choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Lake Shawnee next to Douglas Lake, and get your
heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Bluestone River. Douglas Lake is a quite wet place generally with much rain; most of the rain falls through July; November meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Camping
is available at Camp Creek State Forest, and there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Hoof and Hill Trail.
Summer brings highs in the 70's to Douglas Lake while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime brings
highs down to the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Douglas Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. Bratton Branch flows through this vicinity, and a delightful nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Princeton.
