While you're here at Deerpond you will meet lots of folks from close by Oak Hill; don't forget to take a fine little tour to Kuns Branch.       Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not stop by Orchard Lake close to Deerpond, and if you came for an overnight stay New River Campground is a great location to camp. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Deerpond. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Deerpond through the winter mostly descend into the 10's.
