A visit to Cool Lake is always a good idea. Scotts Run Cinder Barrier Dam is a place that is near Cool Lake, and unsurprisingly Kelly Branch flows through this area. The yearly rain here at Cool Lake is about average; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. This is a popular location for people from Charleston, and Armstrong Creek is a delightful whitewater spot nearby.
