    A visit to Buffalo Lake is always a good idea. For the duration of the summer months at Buffalo Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's; the night is slightly cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Buffalo Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Buffalo Lake frequently gets lots of precipitation; most of the rain falls during July; February is when it's the driest. You  
   get a fine vista of Fork Mountain from Buffalo Lake, and there's great hiking along the Burner Mountain Trail.
Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. The Locust Spring Run Trail offers hiking at its best, and after a long day outdoors Red Carpet Inn Bartow is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Little River Campground is a wonderful site to camp. A good nearby hotel is Hermitage
 
               Motel & Restaurant, and why not camp at Island Campground while you're here at Buffalo Lake.
Take a side tour to Big Run; Little River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby. An out of the ordinary thing to go to in the vicinity of Buffalo Lake is Buffalo Fork Dam, and whitewater paddling is good on Greenbrier River - East Fork. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here, you might as well stop by Toolbox Hollow, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Buffalo Lake; East Fork Trail is a splendid local trail.
