So many enjoyable things to do here at Birch Lake, too splendid to be true. Eli Taylor Knob is a peak you can see from Birch Lake. Going for a hike on the Park View Trail is always a great adventure; dry warm beds await you at Gassaway. The high level of precipitation makes Birch Lake a reasonably wet spot; the month with most of the rain is July, and February is the month with the least       moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Birch River has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a site to stay Elk Motor Court is a wonderful choice. Stay the night at Summersville Music Park Campground, and let's not forget Birch River which is a stream that you may encounter while here. There are splendid places to discover along the Way Back Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Birch Lake has to offer, you can camp at                  Mountain Lake Campground. High temperatures at Birch Lake all through the warm days of summer are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's.
