    Big Bear Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Big Bear Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Big Bear Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. After a long day outdoors Alpine Lake Resort is a great place to spend a night or two, and camping at Chestnut Ridge Regional  
   Park and Campground is always a magnificent experience. This lake is so wonderful. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to spot at Big Bear Lake Dam close to Big Bear Lake; there's whitewater on Youghiogheny River for all you adrenaline kick people.
Circle H Outfitters is a brilliant place to get some rest, and you can run the rapids of Muddy Creek. The Mile Trail is a perfect hiking trail near Big Bear Lake, and at Big Bear Lake you can catch a glimpse of Fike
 
               Hill. Camping is available at Sand Springs Camping Area Chestnut Ridge Regional Park.
That right there is plenty already, but it carries on; Big Bear Lake has it all. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Wisp; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Great Gorge Trail. Lots of rainfall falls at Big Bear Lake; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest.
