If you are in Preston county it's always a good idea to stop by Alpine Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hopemont Spring is a pretty place to go to while you're at Alpine Lake; skiing at Wisp is one of those things you just should do. Camping at Alpine Lake is great fun, Albright Campground is a great local campground, and don't leave Alpine Lake without first going for a hike along the Boundary Trail. | | you then we recommend Youghiogheny River, and dry warm beds await you at Oak Mar Restaurant.
There's whitewater on Muddy Creek for all you adrenaline kick people; you can never get enough of the fine skiing at Canaan Valley. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do near Alpine Lake. There's some flowing water nearby, North Branch Snowy Creek is a stream you can stop at while you're here, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Oakland Golf Club. | |

This lake is so wonderful. Alpine Lake is a glorious location to camp, Pinhill Campground is a glorious location, and the view of Snaggy Mountain is striking.
There are other places here than Alpine Lake, for example Hulls Lake,
and Mountaintop Vacationland Dam is not far at all from Alpine Lake. Alpine Lake Resort is a great place to get some rest. At Alpine Lake during the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. For
the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Alpine Lake sink into the 20's.
The amount of rain that falls at Alpine Lake is close to the national average; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February.
