There is a fine hiking trail close to Whispering Lake called the Kentuck-Spectacle Lake Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Ontonagon River - Middle Branch offers some magnificent whitewater. The Anvil Lake Trail System is a perfect hiking trail close to Whispering Lake, and if you need a place to stay Wild Eagle Lodge is a nice choice. You definitely have to love Whispering Lake. Big Sand Lake Golf Course       is a golf course close to Whispering Lake, and Whispering Lake is a good location to visit for more than one day, Spectacle Lake Campground is a good location to camp nearby. Whispering Lake gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Summertime highs at Whispering Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during                  the winter are in the 10's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Whispering Lake dip into the 0's.
