Mount La Crosse is a very popular ski area close at hand, and Van Loon Lake is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Pow wow Campgrounds is a nice place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Decorah Peak is charming and can be spotted from Van Loon Lake, and why not take a little tour to Beaver Creek if you're here. Summertime highs at Van Loon Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's, and       during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Van Loon Lake tend to be in the 0's. The amount of precipitation that falls at Van Loon Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest.
