We also offer tubing down the Mecan River for our Senior High and Family campers. Other Unique Features Camp Fairwood has several mature pine plantations that provide a unique atmosphere. Trees are harvested about every 8 years. The sandy soil at camp makes playing field games possible even right after inclement weather. Nordic Mountain

In the past few years Nordic Mountain has more than doubled its snowmaking capacity. The goal is to open earlier, close later, and remain open on marginal winter days. One of the biggest projects to improve snowmaking at Nordic Mountain will serve a dual purpose. The addition of a 10 million gallon snowmaking pond will not only supply more cold water for snowmaking, but in the summer of 2009 is scheduled to be made into the second wakeboard winch park in the country.
