A lake nearby is Snipe Lake; going for a hike on the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail is always a perfect adventure. The yearly precipitation here at Trout Lake is about average; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. For the period of the summertime months at Trout Lake highs are usually in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 10's,

There's whitewater on Chippewa River - West Fork for all you thrill seekers, and a splendid place to camp here at Trout Lake is Chippewa River Campground. You could also stop at Foo Lake if you're here at Trout Lake; it's nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Tuscobia Park Falls State Trail. | |

Tuscobia Park Falls State Trail
 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO The trail is called the Tuscobia State Trail. It runs 74 miles from Rice Lake to Park Falls, Wisconsin. The Trail crosses through Barron, Sawyer and Price Counties. This is a multi-use trail on the old railroad grade of the Omaha Railroad. There are lots of things to do and places to stop along the trail. There is now camping available at several points along the trail including Radisson, and Ojibwa. At Winter, the last remaining railroad depot, built in 1905, will be historically restored outside and inside, it will house a visitor center, there will be trailhead parking, historical displays, and picnic areas.
