Beautiful Summit Lake has much to offer visitors. All through the months of summer highs here at Summit Lake reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Summit Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. The Gogebic Range scenery is always beautiful. Take a side visit to Knab Creek, and Whitecap Mountain is a very popular ski area in

And if that's not enough there's a lot more fun things to do in the Gogebic Range. A brilliant place for whitewater paddling close to Summit Lake is Chippewa River - East Fork; you'll hit upon a scenic lake called Gordon Lake. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Butternut Lake Campground is a great local campground.
From a precipitation point of view Summit Lake is a rather common place; the wettest month of the year is usually August,
that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bad River, and if you need a location to stay Park Falls Super 8 Motel is a pleasant choice.
