If you are traveling by, why not stop by Stewart Lake 2. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites VERONA is a tremendous site to get some rest; Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a great national park. An average amount of rainfall falls at Stewart Lake 2; August is when you get the most rain here, and January on the other hand is the driest. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Lake Marion Pond, and Stewart

| | Lake 2 is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Blue Mound State Park is a glorious place to camp nearby.
Looking for some flowing water? Try Moen Creek; if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Norsk Golf Club is nearby. Going for a hike along the Grottos Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Madison.

in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Stewart Lake 2. This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Cedarberry Inn;
whitewater paddling is perfect on Wisconsin River. You can take a little spree to Mount Horeb Dam while you're here at Stewart Lake 2, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Tyrol Basin.
I can't stop,
cause I'm havin' a glorious time here at Stewart Lake 2. Not far from Stewart Lake 2, you'll stumble on Fishers Lake which is a picturesque lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Stewart Lake 2 has to offer, you can camp at Cedar Hills Campground.

| I love these crazy alpine names, Tyrol Basin ?ok , but hey as long as the skiing is decent they can name it whatever they want. It's a good ski area based on Wisconsin standards....Tyrol Basin, heck yeah! anytime! I love the place, easily my favorite nearby local weekend spot. Excellent runs maintained by cool people, yeah!... |
Cedar Hills Campground
 | ...nearby. Canoe rental nearby, boat rental in Sauk City. Horse trails adjacent, I don't know if you can keep one at camp.
Pets allowed, on leash.
At least one regular camper lands his helicopter at camp occasionally, so if you have one...
Overnight camping is about $16, electric sites available. Bring quarters for the showers. Ice and firewood available.
Many sites have absolutely beautiful views, you won't find this at Jellystone.
You also won't find a camp store, organized activities, golf carts, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. This is a very pleasant basic campground. Not much to offer to bored little kids other than that which nature provides.
It's not uncommen to see hawks and bald eagles soaring over the valley. From our site this spring we regularly see an adult pair of eagles with their babies. Cool.
Interesting aside thing, this is also an operating farm, with cows and corn and tractors and stuff. You have to drive past the barn to get in. Remember to say HI! to the cows, they appreciate the attention.
