Many people like to go to Star Lake. There's whitewater on Duncan Creek for all you adrenaline junkies; going for a hike on the Hickory Ridge Trail is always a delightful adventure. High temperatures at Star Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. location to get some rest. You'll meet a lot of folks from Eau Claire here, and if you came for an overnight stay Loon Lake Camp Grounds is a fine spot to camp.
If you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Chetek is a fine choice,
and Christie Mountain is a good local ski area. Go for a hike on the Hardwood Trail, and a scenic lake like Atwood Lake is a nice location to explore. This lake is so wonderful.
