Going for a hike on the North Country Trail is always a nice adventure, and North Haven Country Cottage is a tremendous spot to get some rest. For the duration of the warm months at Spot Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 10's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Spot Lake temperatures       dip to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Chippewa River - West Fork, and the Black Lake Trail is a great hiking trail close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Gogebic Range. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Gogebic Range. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Marengo River. From a rain point of view Spot Lake is a pretty normal place; August is the month that gets the most rain; February                  on the other hand is the driest. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Spot Lake. Near Spot Lake you find the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and a pretty lake like Bentley Lake is a good place to stop at. Camping at Chippewa River Campground is always a magnificent experience, and a splendid nearby hotel is Junek's Bay Cabins. All year is a tremendous time in the Gogebic Range if you love the outdoors.
