Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Flambeau River - South Fork, and if you came to camp Lake Three - Chequamegon National Forest is a good place to do that. Summertime highs at Smith Lake generally tend to be in the 70's. When       the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's with temperatures at Smith Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Lakes? Sure, Pixley Flowage 783 is close at hand, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Phillips is a good choice. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Park Falls is a good location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing                  as a bad day of skiing at nearby Whitecap Mountain, and why not a little side journey to Pixley Creek. From a rain point of view Smith Lake is a quite normal site; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is February. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area in the vicinity of Smith Lake has to offer.
