All through the long summer days highs here at Smith Lake reach the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Smith Lake. Really brilliant skiing awaits you at Trollhaugen, and paddling on Apple River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Amery Golf Club; Wild Mountain       has good slopes and a friendly staff. If you need a place to stay Riverfront Inn New Richmond is a nice choice. There's so much to do here at Smith Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Port Valhalla Campground is a glorious place for that. But wait, there's more to do near Smith Lake. Peabody Creek is a tremendous local stream, and do check out North Fish Lake, it's a beautiful lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Smith Lake has to                  offer, you can camp at Cast-a-way Trailer Park; Saint Croix National Scenic River is a delightful national park. Drift down the rapids of St. Croix River in a kayak; a magnificent nearby hotel is Americinn - New Richmond, Wi. Smith Lake gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
