Sinissippi Lake is a nice lake to visit. This is a tremendous area for folks who like lakes. Sinissippi Lake 509 is a lake close at hand, and let's not forget Wildcat Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while you're here. Highlands of Olympia has fine slopes and a friendly staff. Rock River Hills Golf Club is a great golf course nearby; a fine close by hotel is Audubon Inn.
All through the summer highs here at Sinissippi Lake reach the 80's with

| | nighttime lows in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Sinissippi Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are good; Horicon Marsh 455 Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to Sinissippi Lake, and the nice folks of Beaver Dam like to hang out nearby. Playful Goose Of Horicon is a splendid campground nearby; Holiday Inn Express Watertown, Wisconsin is a magnificent place to get some rest.

is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Kinkel Point is relatively in close proximity to Sinissippi Lake, and Sinissippi Lake is a magnificent location to visit for more than one day, Willow Mill Campsites is
a magnificent location to camp nearby. From a rainfall point of view Sinissippi Lake is a relatively normal site; most of the rain falls through September; January is when it's the driest.

... camping nearby, be advised that Horicon and Beaver Dam are both 1/2 an hour away or more. River Bend resort is about 7 miles West of Watertown, but I think you need to be a member to camp there. To sum this all up: Watertown is named such because it was founded on the horseshoe bend of the Rock RIVER- not LAKE. If you want lakes, go east a bit to the Oconomowoc area. This is called Lake Country for a reason. You will find Lac Labelle and Fowler Lake nearly join at Highway 67 which runs north and south. It is very pretty at sunset. If that doesn't interest you, go southwest of Watertown about 15 minutes to Lake Mills. You'll find fishing and watersports much more accessible here than at Silver Creek! If you come to Watertown, take a walk across the bridge on North Second street around sunset. Stop halfway across the bridge and face west. Lean on the railing and soak in the sky reflecting on the widest part of the river in Watertown. In the distance you will see the Water Street bridge. On the other side of that bridge and a bit to the left is Silver Creek Pond. Sorry, no lake here, b... |
