Lakes are such serene locations, why not have a look at Lake Downing close to Lake Shannon; float down the rapids of Menominee River in a kayak. If you need a site to stay Americinn - Norway, Mi is a wonderful choice, and the good folks of Marinette like to hang out nearby. This lake is so wonderful.       The skiing at Norway Mountain is delightful; if you came to camp Tranquil Vista Campgrounds is a great location to do that. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Lake Shannon. A great nearby hotel is Days Inn Iron Mountain. There's so much to do here at Lake Shannon that you need to camp here for a while, Kenkae Travel Park and Store is a good location for that. All through the months of summer here at Lake Shannon, high temperatures                  mostly get into the 80's, and the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, typically in the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 20's, and overnight lows during the winter for Lake Shannon tend to be in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Norway City Oak Crest Golf Course; Sturgeon Falls is a pretty location to go to while you're at Lake Shannon.
