Summertime at Lake Shangrila arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Lake Shangrila. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Pike River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Volo       Bog Interpretive Trail. Lake Shangrila is right by the Lake Defiance Nature Trail, and not far from Lake Shangrila you get some perfect water scenery at Lake Shangri La Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Shangrila is a delightful place to camp, Fox River Recreation is a delightful place, and Benet Lake is a fine lake nearby. Lake Shangrila gets a common amount of yearly rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.                  Camping at Lake Shangrila is great fun, Happy Acres Kamp Ground is a great local campground, and if you need a place to stay Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Kenosha is a splendid choice. But wait, there's more to do near Lake Shangrila. Enjoy a round of golf at Spring Valley Country Club not far from Lake Shangrila, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites. Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) is a perfect local ski area; people from Racine love to come here.
