     Why not camp at Lauterman Lake Walk-In Campground while you're here at Lake Seventeen; going for a hike along the Lauterman Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. High temperatures at Lake Seventeen during the days of summer are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are typically in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lake Seventeen are in the 0's. There's no such thing as a  
   bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Brule; a picturesque lake like Spruce Lake is a splendid place to have a look at. If you came for an overnight stay Chipmunk Rapids Campground is a wonderful place to camp, and if the weather is wonderful, you can go for a hike along the Dendro Eco Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Lake Seventeen; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most,
 
               and the driest of the months is February. Glide down the rapids of Popple River in a kayak; Brule Mountain has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff.
And that's not all you can do here at Lake Seventeen. Americinn - Iron River, Mi is a great spot to get some rest; Grub Hoe Lake is a wonderful lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Pine River is so much fun, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Iron Mountain.

Whoohoo! My local ski hill on the internet, WOW! What can I say, Brule's got straight runs and wiggly runs, hard ones and easy ones, but they're all lots of fun. I've been here more times than I can remember and I keep coming back for more and more, year after year....

...e rich mineral content of the ground. That untouched beauty remains only in a few unique areas left over from bygone days. Paint River Hills is truly one of those areas.

The highlight of Paint River Hills Campground is its hiking trail along the Paint River. The loop trail, about half-mile long, winds through and around the rock bluffs and hills that form the banks of the Paint River and for years has been the playground of local youngsters. The name “Paint River Hills” is the term used by locals to describe the location of the campground. Youngsters have named other areas such as Peeper Hollow, Big Rock Candy Mountain, White Pine Lookout, Fairy Tale Swamp, Rock Fort, Thistle Swamp and Camel Back Lookout.

As the trail leads you to several lookouts down the river identification signs greet you naming trees in native Ojibwa as well as Latin and English. You will wind through an old white cedar stand and see rare quartz rock outcroppings. You will have an opportunity to see abundant wildlife, which considers this area along the Paint River its sanctuary, and hear the sound...
