A fine nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites IRON MOUNTAIN, and camping at Scout Lake is magnificent fun, Keyes Lake Campground is a magnificent local campground. Near Scout Lake you locate the Lauterman       Trail which is a good hiking trail; if you get bored of Scout Lake you could also stop at close by Bass Lake. High temperatures at Scout Lake through the summer months are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are commonly in the 10's with temperatures at Scout Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. You absolutely should go for Scout Lake. There's some flowing water nearby, Sand Lake Branch is a stream you                  can stop at while here, and Budget Host Inn Iron Mountain is a wonderful spot to get some rest.
