While you're here at Sand Lake, you could also take a look at wonderful Scovils Lake, and get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of St. Croix River. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western American Heritage Inn, and Sand Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Gordon Flowage Campground is a good place to camp nearby. You'll hit upon a wonderful lake called Mud Lake near Sand Lake;       you can stay the night at Rosenthal's Resort. Sand Lake is a good spot of normal precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Black Bear Golf Club, and you can run the rapids of Upper Tamarack River. All through the warmest time of the year here at Sand Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. Summer night                  lows sink down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Sand Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's. That right there is a load already, but it carries on; Sand Lake has it all.
