Drift down the rapids of Brule River in a kayak; Hord Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. The amount of rainfall that falls at Sand Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls through September while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime at Sand Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends       down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Sand Lake throughout the winter ordinarily dip into the-10's. Sand Lake is a good place to camp, Golden Eagle Park and Campground is a good place, and camping at Sand Lake is good fun, Keyes Lake Campground is a good local campground.
