There's so much to do here at Rooney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mc Caslin Mountain Campground is a wonderful spot for that, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Peshtigo River. This lake is so wonderful. Rat River is a wonderful whitewater spot next to Rooney Lake, and don't forget to take a delightful little visit to Otter Creek. | |

Near Rooney Lake you find the Dendro Eco Trail which is a great hiking trail; if you need a place to stay Best Western Lakewood Lodge is a perfect choice.
All through the summer months highs here at Rooney Lake get into the 70's.
Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Rooney Lake through the wintertime generally plunge into the-10's.
